Organic food production is not a new system. In fact it is what we all used to eat. It is vegetables and meat unnaturally produced with artificial fertilisers and regular pesticide use that is new. Producers have in fact, through the years been offered a range of incentives not to grow organic vegetables and meat.

After the 2nd world war the UK were determined to be nationally self sufficient with the production of farmed goods. To help achieve This point subsidies were urged to take and incentives to increase yields. This offered an inviting opening for chemical companies to sell more and more fertilisers and pesticides. Pesticide residues on vegetables have a number of known dangerous properties for humans and they can be a cause of cancer and other diseases.

Organic food which is grown using upto only 4 natural pesticides (non organic growers have an arsenal of over 700 harmful chemicals to choose from) is merely food that is grown naturally and traditionally and it is wrong to assume that it is a new thing. It is in real terms the non organically farmed food why is the new fad.

Organic Food not just tastes better it is nutritionally superior to food reared using harmful chemical residues and pesticides. It is also proven to be far more of a benefit to your health.
