Organic food farming is not a new system. In fact it is the food we all were accustomed to eat. It is produce grown with artificial fertilisers and routine pesticide use that is new. Farmers have in real terms, over the years been urged to take many incentives not to grow organically farmed food.
After the 2nd world war the UK were determined to be self sufficient using a system of the production of grown goods. It is in fact the non organic vegetables and meat that is the new thing.
